Swimming Classes for adults of all ages and skill levels

Bourne Swimming Club is an inclusive non-for-profit club which prides itself on a friendly approach that puts the swimmer first. Our adult classes welcome swimmers across all ages - from young adults to senior citizens - whatever your swimming goals!

Beginner swimming classes

Learning to swim as an adult can be daunting but we make it easy. With experienced instructors in the water, we will help you gain water confidence, learn to float, learn your first strokes and how to breathe underwater. The classes are delivered at a calm relaxed pace, in the shallow end of the pool with an instructor at an arm’s length. We go at your pace, making sure you’re comfortable.

  • Class times : Thursdays, from 8.00pm - 8.30pm,

  • Class location : de Stafford swimming pool

  • Course cost : £30 per calendar month

Improver swimming classes

If you already know how to swim but want to get better at it - we have classes for you. We offer improver classes at two levels - those who know how to swim a little and want to learn to do it better, and those who are quite confident in the water but want to refine their swimming technique and build stamina. We work with you on your goals, helping you be a better swimmer no matter what level you start from.

  • Class times : Thursdays, 8.30pm - 9.00 pm and 9.00pm -9.30pm,

  • Class location : de Stafford swimming pool

  • Course cost : £30 per calendar month

5 reasons why you should swim with us:

1. Welcoming Adults of All ages and Levels

Adult swimmers in our club range from early 20s to well into their retirement age and we make sure we meet their needs at their skill and fitness level.

2. Personal goal-oriented learning

Rather than having you follow a rigid course structure, we take time to understand where you are at your swimming level and help you achieve your goals - whether it’s to be able to swim with your head underwater, finally learn that backflip or train towards a fitness goal - you tell us!

3. A Calming Learning Environment

Overcrowded, noisy pools with shouty instructors are not a good learning environment. Calm, small group classes with a limited number of swimmers learning at the same time and more attention from the instructors make it easier for you to concentrate and enjoy your swimming journey.

4. Instructors in the Water

In all but the advanced swimming class, our dedicated instructors are in the water with you! This approach ensures you feel safe, confident, and make the most of your lessons.

5. Easily manageable monthly payments

As a non-profit club, everything that we charge goes only towards covering our expenses - such as pool rental, insurance fees and instructor fees. This means we can keep the costs down and still deliver small group classes. Rather than charging a heftier termly fee, we have smaller, more manageable monthly payments.
